The Enten-App is priced at €1.99. It enables children to independently and intuitively learn to read short sentences, with prior knowledge of recognizing individual words required. After downloading, a yearly license can be purchased via in-app purchase, allowing offline use of the application.

The app is organized into 15 progressive reading levels, advancing in a differentiated manner while considering the solutions to the assigned tasks. As children acquire new skills, the difficulty gradually increases from one level to the next.

Initially, children practice reading single words, followed by systematic and incremental exercises in sentence reading. The development framework aligns with curricula across all German federal states and Austria.

Within the "Settings" menu, users can customize various aspects of the app, including:

• Displaying all words segmented into syllables
• Representing all syllables and words exclusively in uppercase letters
• Disabling the pronunciation feature for terms

Additionally, usage data and learning progress can be monitored within the settings area.

In Germany, the app displays text in standard German orthography, whereas in Austria it automatically switches to Austrian school script. Users can adjust the font size directly within their device’s display settings.
